Is there a way to review battles? Sometimes with quick turns, I take a quick peek at the Battles and Start my turn, then look and go "wha?!" at some city Would be nice to back and replay the battle... of course it's moot with 2 minute turns, but with the extravagance of THREE whole minutes or more, I'd use that option.

Yes, when the battles are listed click one of the green buttons instead of the exit button.

Right, but I want to go back and look at a battle after I started my turn, so that list is gone.

I dont really mind that you can only review battles before you start you turn, but it would be really helpful to be able to review them after you start your turn.

Yeah, I sometimes wonder why battles don't go in my favor. Did he attack one of the armies I was trying to send to his city/army. Did he reinforce from somewhere? I would like to start playing 4 minute turn games to actually watch battles and learn from my mistakes and see whats actually going on. People want fast games were I can never nail down whats going on and what am I doing wrong.

That's why you don't just start turn, check if you won in all battles, if you didn't then check were you lost and why, and then start turn

It would be much better to review battles during your turn, because instead of checking at the start you are rushing to move troops around due to the initiative rule. I end up finishing my move quickly and not having anything to do, which would be a perfect time to check that up.

Someone mentioned this yesterday... the initiative rules arent based on time, are they? I'm pretty sure that whenever in a turn you make your first move, that is counted as your first move, and everyones first move happens, then everyones second move etc. It doesnt matter whether you made the move with 1:50 left in the turn or 0:01 left in the turn.

Now, I also thought I read that each round of movement is randomly chosen, so player 1 could go first in the first movement round and last in the second movement round.

This is all correct. But I think its risky to spend a minute reviewing battles (in 2 or 3 min turns), in order to still have time to make all necessary moves, especially later on in game with multiple battles.

I think part of the reason it hasn't come up before is Ivan & Amok intended ideally long turns, 5 or 6 minutes, so there would be plenty of time to do both - but most players prefer 2 or 3 min turns, hence the difficulty.
