Lets say i have 3 militia (9 attack) total attacking a destroyer in boat (7 defence).

All units attack simultenously correct?

So the 3 militia will win in all likelihood (9 attack and 21 hp vs 7 defence and 10 hp).

In that case isnt suciding transports full of militia a very cheap way to wear down the enemy? Since they have the highest attack/defence : gold ratio of any unit.

Another thing...intercepting transports.

Lets say an enemy has 4 air transports loaded with infantry and they are about to hit my city next turn. I know hes going to hit my city, so i try and intercept him with bombers by attacking his stack. Both of us make our moves as our first move action of the turn.

If im understanding this correctly, there is a 50% chance that my move happens first and i intercept him in mid air with my bombers.

In that case, does his infantry put up a fight against my bombers?

For the second question, yes I'm pretty sure the infantry will be in the fight as well, but from experience I think I do remember it being where the units in the transport weren't involved and basically died with the transport was killed.

As for the first question... I'd assume so. I mean, I'd probably use that as a diversion then send marines to his main countries and screw him up there while he's busy dealing with your transport spam.

The anwer to the first question is no, for the simple fact that land units cant fight in open sea. so if u attack a cruiser(def 7) with a transport full of militia (atk 1, cuz militia cant fight)... well u know the odds of winning.

about the second question, yes: infantry defends against your bombers as normal, unless u intercept the transports in open sea. that would be def 8 for the 4 transports filled of 16 infantry, against an attck of 60 for the 10 bombers necessary to turnblock.

The first example assumes that the destroyers are docked.

How exactly can infantry loaded on an air transport defend against bombers in mid flight?

Because that's how Amok designed the game.

So let me get this straight: they can shoot out of an aircraft, but not out of a ship? and they also lose the ability to shoot out of an aircraft if the air transport is above a sea?

When the Airtransport is over Land, they land to refill the fuel, so of cause the Troops transported will defend it. but Swimming and fighting is not that easy and only for special forces (buged/glitched) troops.

Better?

What are you guys saying?

"So the 3 militia will win in all likelihood (9 attack and 21 hp vs 7 defence and 10 hp?"

How is the combat and the given results on it work? The attack and defence roll works like a dice.

It's not always that the milita will deal highest amount of dmg (let's say 4). Sometimes even it might deal 1 attack. - If you attack the destroyer, the battle will look like this. Ill explain this as the easiest possible way;

3 milita= 4*4*4 (with 12attack in total) and 21hp vs one destroyer= 7 and 10hp.

- three milita goes to combat - One Milita deal 4atck: destroyer loose 4hp = remaining six hp to the destroyer.
- Destroyer answer back by defending 7atck: One milita dies, and three milita left.
- Two milita now and the next one gets really unlucky and deal 1atc: destroyer now have fivehp.
- Again the destroyer defend and gets a 7atc roll: Another milita dies, one remaining left.
- One milita left and this time it deal 4atck: Destroyer now have one 1hp
-destroyer deal 4atck: The only milita has now 3hp.
- Milita give 4atck and the destroyer with 1hp dies. One milita lives to fight another day.

*I did not count with ARB

This is how the battle looks. That's why you sometimes loose even if you have the odds with you. This is called bad rolls, and occur every now and then. I have once lost three tanks vs one milita.

"In that case isnt suciding transports full of militia a very cheap way to wear down the enemy? Since they have the highest attack/defence : gold ratio of any unit."

- Bullshit. Transports have 2 in defence, and would be totally defenceless against one or two bombers. Also I dont get the point why you want to sacrifice alot of tropps because the troops in a transport cant engage in battle...Also it's FUCK whey of wasting money goddamit. You need escorts to protect the transports.

"If im understanding this correctly, there is a 50% chance that my move happens first and i intercept him in mid air with my bombers."

not midair. If he win he gets to attack your city.

If you win, you get to destroy his transport/airplane. And no the infantry wont be engaging the battle since it's on a transport.

But let's say for instance if that airplane moves away from you, and he win? The transport get to do its move and your bomber will follow and intercept if it can reach. If not the bomber will just stay at the same place.

Hope this helped.

Wait, units actually take turns to attack one by one?

If i have 3 militia, doesnt all 3 attack at once (3d4 damage)?

If so, this means that attacking with overwhelming odds doesnt actually reduce your casaulties...

Transports can have enough range to reach a coastal city in one turn (depends on map obviously), so you might need to escort it.

And if you can force your opponent to station more troops in his capital while killing his expensive units with cheap militia...you are winning the economic battle.

Yes, units attack one by one:
"Unit's Attack and Defense represent the maximum amount of damage you deal to the opponent. Attack and defense are executed simultaneously, so you're guaranteed to deal some damage in a battle. Each unit has Hit points - so damage is applied directly to Hit points, and if the unit runs out of them, it gets destroyed. The remaining damage is then transferred to the next unit.

So, for example, 1 Tank (9 HP) attacks 1 Infantry (8 HP) and 1 Militia (7 HP). Tank deals 6 damage (attacking), Infantry deals 4 damage (defending). Now Tank has 5 HP left and Infantry 2 HP. Tanks now deals 3 damage and Infantry also 5. Tank dies, Infantry dies, Militia takes 1 damage, but survives to fight another day. After the battle all HP is restored for surviving units."
