Terrain Bonuses

There should be different terrain bonuses that can be created/enabled on land or sea, for example a road could give +1 range if a unit is on it the next turn and rocky terrain could give -1 movement. Also it should be able to apply to only certain units, since different terrain will affect different units differently.

One thing puzzles me doe ...my proposition was that we could create an area and then give it + or - range bonuses for units (as OP suggested also) but how would does areas apear on the map ...how would we know which area holds a bonus or a nerf for range?

This should be visible in some way so it wouldnt be blind exploring of every map and every area.

Only the map maker would know

Well thats not good :/ ...at least a player could use a map preview and explore, learn about the areas.

P.S. why cant we preview scenarios?
double P.S. why is there no map gallery where we can preview all the maps like the ones on the home page?

what p.s. stand for? the mapmaker would know everything about the terrain. you can preview scenario if you can start it and soloplay.

Couldn't it be in the units section in-game?

Would you not just mouse over the area to see what kind of terrain it is and what it's effects are?

It should change the map. If there's a road, it should be shown as a different color for the areas it applies to.

Great idea; whoever proposed it first. I vaguely remember reading something similar a couple of months ago.

Busy, tired, and annoyed at everything.

We have talked about it with Amok several times before, and sorry, this is something that is not going to happen. Too difficult technically (especially when it comes to movement) and introduces even more complexity to already rather elaborate game mechanics.
