When I'm in a game, and people want to ally end, but there's that oneeeee low rank that doesn't grasp the concept of not attacking before you send an ally request. Maybe auto-decline should be removed altogether to avoid this problem?

Support, but only if it cancels the attack if the player accepts, if not then attacks go on as normal.

No it does not, because the player does not even see the request if they have attacked, it auto declines.

You know I did think that that might be the case, seemed an odd thing to have said considering the primary post. I agree, the alliance request should not cancel attacks. Might be hard to do that though, as the accept decline phase comes after attacks are processed.

Let's say i get most of your land, send a request to ally, you accept because you are unable to see my action, and once you notice that I took your land, it will be too late cuz I get reinforcements and just end alliance with you.

Or I get your cap, and you accept alliance, then i end alliance and you auto-lose.

They should also make it able to view maps before you make a decision on an alliance, so many issues with that too

Yeah, sometimes I want to look at the current alliances to know if I want to accept an ally request.

The reason this was an issue in the first place was because some people would take a players capital while offering an alliance or peace. The player would then accept only to find they had lost their country and the the player would delare war while walling and preparing to attack the weaker undefended cities which the opponent could not no longer produce in. This happened enough until it became an issue which was solved by this change. It was a long while back.

My advice? Send them a message them at the start. Auto Decline is really, really, really annoying but it's a sad necessary evil to prevent he shitstorm of trolls who used this is a winning technique.

Raising awareness of auto decline would be a better idea.

These people are new, mate. They don't remember the shitstorms this use to cause. Alliance was the worst. At least then they sent a peace request, you had the time too setup a good wallfuck and possibly might survive but when they attacked and you accepted an alliance without realizing that they had taken your capital. Then, they had you by the balls because if you ended the alliance, you'd be dead by the time you could declared war.

It's not worth the hassle it use to cause. Auto Decline is a good thing, despite its annoyance.

I remember the days when ranks 8 where top-tier pros, now it seems like everybody below rank 10 is a total noob (with a few exceptions of course [yes i am talking about people in my friend list] like SQUARED).
