I'm sure a lot of you have been playing a game and a wave of trolls will enter the game to spectate. They will spam, tell people to quit, or they will say 'REMAKE' constantly.

"Put them on ignore." You say? Sure, you can't see their rambling anymore, but not everyone will do it and if things get confusing enough, a lot of the players will leave and join the spectator's "remake".

I bought a premium subscription so I could play awesome scenarios, but my experience thus far has been absolutely terrible. Just today I had 4 different United Nations games ruined because a few spectators didn't join in time/the game was full. So what did they do? They started spamming, telling people they made a remake, generally being unpleasant people. It is annoying and demoralizing for a game you hosted to be so easily destroyed by random trolls. I do not have a lot of free time due to my career and personal responsibilities, but when I do manage to get some leisure time and choose to spend it playing atWar, I would like it to be enjoyable and not cluttered with unsavory experiences or be forced to have the games I host be destroyed by immature and inconsiderate people.

This is why I suggest that the HOST of the game have the option to do one or a combination of the following before the game or during:

1. No spectators: Just like the 'extra cities' option, there should be an option that no spectators can join
2. Limit Spectators: Give the option to limit the amount of people that can spectate
3. Muted Spectators: The option to allow spectators to watch, but they are mute in the game and can only communicate via PM with players in the game. This would mean taking away their ability to use the ROOM chat while they are spectating as well, so they couldn't spam. They can still use their Clan chat, global, etc.
4. Kick Spectators: Let's say the host of a game chose to LIMIT spectators or allowed all spectators in, but one of them began to troll. The host should have the option to kick spectators at any time or, like option 3, mute them.
5. Ban from spectating: Some people have a stalker, and by that, I mean some people sometimes have that one person that loves following them around in games, spectating and trolling them. I suggest that the OPTION be added for someone to ban another person from spectating a game they are hosting. It would be similar how the current Add Friend, Ignore, Enemy list works. You would have a personal 'Banned' list.

These options could be only for premium players, which in turn would add extra allure and incentive for people to purchase a premium subscription. Or it could be free... or maybe 1 of these options is available for free players, but if you wanted all of the options, you have to get a premium account.

Feel free to expound on these ideas or add your own ideas. Thanks for reading and thank you for your time.

Exactly. Just because you place the spectators on ignore, doesn't mean everyone will -- they can be irritated enough to quit or simply join the 'remake' that the spectators are promoting.

2) There is a way to get rid of game chat and room chat altogether. Where you have the box you type your chat in next to it on the right is a box with the word "game" or "room" or "global" whatever lobby you are in. Click that box and tick off the boxes which you don't want to appear in your chat. This will block off all the spam in your chatscreen and you can talk to your allies/friends in peace.

Will make a screenshot of this later.

Thanks, LDK

I provided a Screenshot. Hope this clears things up for you supporters of this post.

that dosnt work.
[example plz dont bitch about it]
What if i am in a un game? and a bunch of spectators are massive spamming?
and i ignore like 4 people, but the other persons on the lobby dont ignore them?
then everyone starts quitting because they tell them that there is a remake?

That's not my problem mate. Maybe that indicate your game itself is crap and that is why people are leaving it maybe?

Maybe we shouldn't start dragging this thread back into the examples of what happen but what should happen and the solutions of it.

hahahahah, nvm. dont implement this.
is so funny, to join random scenarios and tell everyone that is glitched, and that i have a remake.
i already ruined like 50 games. hahahahahaha.

Spectating is important for new players to watch and learn. Or simply to watch a nice match if you dont want to play yourself.
If you dont want spectators you can create a private game and no one will bother you. We dont need another option to 'ban' them.

But spectator chat can be very annoying because ignore doesnt work for them.

This is my suggestion:

Spectator Channel:
This is the default channel if you join a game as a spectator. It is a seperate channel where you can chat and talk about the match. Players cant read this channel.

Game Channel:
This is the default channel if you join a game as a player. You can talk to other players in the game and spectators and are able to read you messages like in the old game channel.
Spectators are able to write on that channel but they are limited by a 3 min (1 turn) flood control.

This is how it works for blizzards strategy games and i have always been happy with it.
