The 'Left' doesn't shape anything. They are shaped by something else. The people that own the media don't give a damn about these politics. Ideologies are just tools to them. Progressives are given power and a voice by the financial class, made up of you know who's. Whenever any of them preach anti-war, they get cut. When they preach genuine socialism, they get cut. Even the Jacobin mag is supporting wars for Israel. The 'Left' media attacks Trumps lack of expansion in middle eastern wars.

The 'Left' is a facade. Just like the 'Right'. Economic leftism gets nowhere while social progressivism gets pushed. Nationalist social conservatism gets nowhere, while tax cuts and free markets get pushed. This is exactly what 'they' want.

Genuine populism of the economic left or social right get crushed.
