If the country is neutral, you should add the player units as an event on its capital.
The tricky part is that you can't add events on capital cities, so you have to add the events first then turn the city into capital afterwards.
Also make sure to add a special neutral unit there to prevent other players from capturing it before the event, otherwise they'll become the owners of the event units.

It laggs a lot.
You should also add a personalization, you should be able to chose what units a unit can tranport, and not just one, units should also have an option called "transportable by" Add a way to personalize the building buffs and add movement buffs buildings. Make the transport options optimazed pls. as map dev, I know how bothering it is

I've been thinking about this for a while now but there's tons of beautiful maps in AtWar that no one ever plays or truly appreciates. It's fine that no one plays them because of time constraints and the amount of players required in some cases, but there's so much history and so many lives imbued into this game that it doesn't feel right to not showcase this to the general public that we have this wonderful community of people helping build this game for zero compensation for the sake of their passion projects.

I think we should do seasonal series showcasing maps on Instagram, Tik Tok, or display it prominently on a page in AtWar.

Promoting maps is great for money but you don't truly know anything about the map till you open it, and unless you're in certain circles in this game that not everyone knows about you'll never be able to appreciate the innovations happening within this game and people will just assume the game is what they see.

Unfortunately, we don't have ad revenue to compensate creators in this game and it would be hard pressed to have a profitable Patreon on this game but it feels like we're missing out on the benefits of having content creators which have built YouTube, Tik Tok, Instagram, etc. Think of all those artsy fan pages people follow on Instagram. That could be us. Anyone into history, war, or adventures would really dig it and the gameplay. Think of all the history buffs. I'm sure they would love to see real conflicts be turned into a game.

At the very least we need to have a larger showcase for: 1) Aesthetic Maps. 2) Innovative Maps. 3) Game Play Maps. 4) Historically Accurate Maps.

Building maps takes real talent, blood, sweat, and tears! We wouldn't want to waste all that would we?

Hi, just wondering what's the best way to give a player additional land at a later turn without allowing any possibility of the opposing player taking that land if they attack it on the same turn.

Is dropping the units directly onto the city the right move?

Hello. This is my first endeavor into making a serious historical scenario. It is a 6 player simulation of the Bronze Age Collapse, a period around 1200 BCE when many advanced civilizations in the Eastern Mediterranean suddenly declined, leading to widespread destruction, an overall "dark age". The causes likely involved Sea Peoples invasions, climate-induced droughts, and internal rebellions.

Topics covered: Battle of Kadesh (Largest Chariot Battle in History), Sea Peoples Invasions, Homeric Myths, and Assyrian-Kassite Wars.

Unit Information

Each nation has its own unique units: their own main defense, main attack, and secondary attack units.
The following is an example for Egyptian New Kingdom:

The only shared units are the peasant levy (militia), archer (stealth/marine), naval, and buildings.

Gameplay Information:

Victory condition: capture player capital and hold for 2 turn.
Max. game duration: 50 turns.

Game rules (located in the lower right of the map) reads:

1) Assyria and Babylon must fight each other.

2) Egypt must go to war with Hittites.

3) Sea Peoples must war Egypt, Hittites, and Greece.

4) Follow thru these wars; you cannot peace out.

5) For Late Game: If at any point 3 of the original 6 players survive, the above rules can be ignored and you can choose to ally end.

Info for Egypt Player:

1) Southern Nile River and Delta are not connected by water, so you cannot take Nile War Galley or other ships outside.

2) Cataracts are unkillable, and unpassable (by sea), but be free to use it to remove any unnecessary units.

I'm sure you'll all enjoy this map! I've been quite active on AtWar these past few months and plan to stay that way. If you spot any issues with the map or have suggestions, feel free to message me anytime.
In a few weeks, I'll release a standalone duel version of the base map featuring just Egypt vs Hittites.

I understand you folks are busy people, and I hate to bother you with a stupid non atwar related thing like this
Anyways we have this interview a veteran thing at my school, and not knowing any I'll have to do this online. We are suppose to ask a former or active military the following questions. (It is due tommorow. but I'll still get partial credit if I turn it in late)
-When Did you decide to join military
-What was your service branch/role
-What you recall about first days in service
-Basic training
-Recreation off duty
-Memorable aspects of military life
-Unusal event that occured during service
-Skills or training gained
-Proudest moment
-What homecoming was like
-Readjusting to civilian life
-How your military career prepared you for life after service
-Freindships made during service
-An aspect of military life you wish was understood
Thanks for your service

Enlisted in AtWar back in 2015, I was in a penal unit so it was closer to conscription
My first days of service were a blur. Constant abuse, beatings, and destruction of my character and being was to be endured daily. Hazing from the superior enlisted men was harsh, and most of the officers and nco's encouraged the abuse. Basic consisted of getting our asses beat daily until we could start to block punches... We had a lot of good men drop out from lack of structured training...
Recreation though? Son the Atwar corps is your recreation. It is like being in love with a woman, it hurts followed by brief intense feeling of happiness and endorphin rush. When you finally achieve victory over those who have been hazing you that moment is memorable and is cemented with you for life....
There have been many events that were unusual. The great uprisings from... them. The fall of peacock dances between the clans used to measure millimeter peeners, and the transition of leadership from an oligarchy to a *MANAGED* democracy have all been unusual times in the corps.
Many skills have been honed in my service, same with many others. Click and drag, racist banter, making fun of turks. These are also some of my proudest moments as well. When funny word people get sad when I crush them. The training of bear unit. Making the low ranks fight to the death in late night unsanctioned MMA fights. The AtWar corps have helped me developed myself.
Homecoming has been rough. I am always looking over my shoulder for stealth bombers in the European heartland. I try and keep random things lying around so my allies dont take them. and most importantly I dont use millions of civilians as simply cannon fodder to add mass to my armies, I have to respect peoples lives. After my continuing service I don't want to return to civilian life. I have dedicated myself to the corps.
Life after service? There is none. Only the void knowing you spent several years clicking map game for the glory of the corps.
I have made many friends in my service. Old ones like General Himmelreich, Commander Adolphin, Lieutenant Taibi, NCO Empires. And many new ones such as Barracks bunny Augustus, Warrant officer dire, and foreign British joint training envoy MOP (Rag.). I have many service friends.
I wish our sacrifice was better understood. We spend days, years, decades even fighting silently on the background to keep our countries safe. Every day we keep fighting in the AtWar corps is a day autists and turks are not unleashed on unexpecting citizens of the balkans. Our current peacekeeping mission helps keep the countries of Albania, Greece, Brazil, Turkey, and Serbia all stable, all without the recognition, or funding we deserve. Currently we are holding our posts without orders from high command in the past several months, but we hold the line.
Thank you to all Atwar Veterans for your dedicated service.

Modern easily, casualties are at an all time low, much higher chances of surviving, better medicine and above all at least you get supplied food on a regular basis.
And while death can come from everywhere, im sure its an easier death being blow up by a drone than it is getting hacked to bits by a peasant with an axe.

Summa summarum, I agree with you.

But I still can't escape the impression that you can be so smoothly and easily removed from the face of the earth forever, without any fight and without any tactical outsmarting, by means of a plastic that someone drives around the front by remote control while he sits and plays somewhere a few kilometers away.

War should preserve that survival and instinctual aspect where the most persistent/wise/lucky and skillful survive, and not that it, figuratively speaking, turn into a real video game where you depend on all other factors, and least of all on yourself.

If I end being into war, I want to be a warrior, not an NPC.

I created a map for a role-play game set in the *Tyranny* universe.
This is my first map and scenario, so it's probably quite unbalanced, but I wanted to capture the atmosphere of this universe.
I think I should begin with an explanation of the gameplay rules and the goals of each faction.

**Rules designed with role-play in mind:**

**Kyros' Empire** - an empire that has dominated the entire continent. Its goal is to subjugate the region so that only one faction loyal to it remains, or to destroy all others. During the first turns, it should gather strength and financially support selected allies (due to its limited recruitment). At the end of the game, it may win on its own or with at most one ally.

**Scarlet Chorus / Disfavored** - Kyros' main invading forces. They cannot make peace or form alliances with each other. They compete for Kyros' favor. Ultimately, they may submit to Kyros' will or choose to fight against him.

**The Vendrien Guard** - the main rebel force. Their uprising was meant to ignite resistance against Kyros' Empire. They can fight against the Disfavored and the Scarlet Chorus, or submit to one of these two factions.

**Fatebinders** - Kyros' judicial and executive authority. Their goal is to bring peace to the region and resolve conflicts between factions. As long as Kyros' Empire does not attack first, any attack on the Fatebinders is considered an act of aggression against Kyros and results in losing his support. The Fatebinders, however, may attack and support any factions.

**Bronze Brotherhood** - mercenaries whose ambition is to become a military power on par with the Scarlet Chorus and the Disfavored.

**Inhabitants of the Tiers** - the people of the Tiers, relatively weak units, mostly civilians (with exceptions such as the Forge-Bound or Sirin). They should form alliances with whichever faction offers them the best protection. They may support that faction financially.

**The Unbroken** - they seek to reclaim and rebuild their kingdom (the regions of Remains of Stalwart and the Blade Grave), which puts them at war with the Disfavored. If they succeed, they must still hold those territories.

**Stonestalkers** - their goal is to defeat the humans and reclaim the Stone Sea for the beastfolk. They may form alliances with whoever offers them the most territory within the Stone Sea region.

**Sages** - their goal is simply survival and the preservation of their library

---

**Additional aspects:**

1. Kyros' Empire has three locations that serve as gold mines. They are out of reach for units — there is no land connection.
2. In the bottom-right corner, there are extra regions to provide better "survivability" in case a faction loses its cities but still has units remaining.
3. To capture the areas mentioned above, a flying unit is available for recruitment in a neutral region next to Kyros' Empire.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments, feel free to message me privately or leave a comment.
